How To Dispose of Dry Ice

If you are a The Personal Butcher customer, you know that our boxes are delivered to you with dry ice in the packaging. Please be aware that the box is lined with dry ice to keep the order fresh and cold. Since this might be your first time handling dry ice, please follow the instructions below to safely and properly dispose of it:
- To dispose of dry ice, place it in a well ventilated area at room temperature. The remainder of the ice will sublimate away.
- Never dispose of dry ice in a trash can, or in a drain or toilet. This can cause pipes to freeze and fill the air with carbon dioxide.
On some occasions, the dry ice will be completely evaporated by the time it reaches the customer, so if that happens, you can safely dispose of the box like you would a normal empty box.
