Food subscription services are all the rage nowadays, especially with everything going on in the world. Some of you might be weary of food like meats being shipped to you from another part of the country, and wondering when the meat is delivered if it will be safe to eat. We’re here to tell you that there is nothing to worry about with meat delivery.

Our boxes are filled with dry ice, which keeps the meat cold while in transit. When the box arrives to you, it is common for the dry ice to be partially, if not completely gone. This does not mean that the meat is not still good, it’s just that the box got to you in the right amount of time.

When the meat arrives, it should arrive refrigerator cold, which is about 40 degrees fahrenheit. It should be still cold, frozen, or partially frozen, which means the meat is ready to go right into your freeze or ready to be fully defrosted so you can cook it. However, if you would like to check the temperature of the meat before you use it, the best and easiest way to check this is using a food thermometer.

Any meat that is at 40 degrees fahrenheit or higher should be discarded immediately due to the meat being unsafe to consume.
