You’ve cooked your steak, but how do you know if it’s done? Forget cutting into the meat, and use a meat thermometer. This is the fastest and most efficient way to tell if the meat that you are cooking is cooked to the desired temperature.
Here is our simple temperature guide to help you find the best wellness for your cut:
- Rare: Cook the steak for about 4 minutes on each side. The internal temperature should be 130-135 degrees fahrenheit.
- Medium rare: Cook the steak for about 5 minutes on each side. Internal temperature should be 140 degrees fahrenheit.
- Medium: Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side. Internal temperature should be 155 degrees fahrenheit.
- Well done: Cook for 7-8 minutes on each side. Internal temperature should be 165 degrees fahrenheit.
Once the steak is cooked to the proper wellness, make sure you let it sit for a few minutes before you cut into it. This will allow the juices to spread evenly throughout the steak and give you perfect bites every time.
Though it is not necessary to use a meat thermometer to cook your steak, this is the best way to ensure the perfect desired wellness!
